The Souly Breakdown

I have always wondered about how our human body functions spiritually. How does one connect to the universe… Like feeling the subtle energies within, where does it come from, were we born with it? Sometimes it makes no sense, like is this all in my head?? I can’t see energy! But then I can’t see strawberry scented air either. Duhh… So there is the body and then the soul, which is ethereal right? Apparently that’s not all there is…

So this was what I grew up understanding. There is the physical body, which is what we know of as the human body. Then there is the soul, which we cannot see. It resides within the human body and makes the body function. So when we die, the soul leaves the body and life ends there. The ‘battery’ is dead. As it turns out, this whole soul thing is not quite so simplistic.

“The soul contains the secret of God…”

During a chat with AM, I asked him about what exactly the soul is. He said the soul contains the secret of its source – universal consciousness/God. The soul comes from God, and is encased within a body. So once the body no longer functions, it returns. Ok… so far so good. But there is more to it though. Waaaaay more. The soul is like a magnet for energies. From where you ask? It’s well… hmm…

Ok dharma dearies. You need to prepare yourself for the next bit. Hang on tight to your chair and err… your jaw.

The energies I mentioned above are from past existence. Past lives.

Nooo it’s NOT your eyes. I’m calling it… Reincarnation. There! I’ve said it. Please understand that I grew up believing in a religion which reincarnation has no place in. Hearing about reincarnation from AM was like… let’s just say I know exactly how you feel, reading this right now. For some of you, reincarnation has always been a part of your belief system. After all, Buddhists and Hindus believe in reincarnation. It wasn’t that way for me.

So how exactly does the energy thing thing and the soul and reincarnation stuff work? The soul holds the energies of your past existences. Each existence/life we had, we would have lived the life according to the plan or you could say programme that was set, or not. This life plan/programme is known as Dharma.

At the end of each life, there is either a deficit or a surplus. Cause and effect. A more suitable term for this would be Karma. Karma is what we have done and not done in life, the total sum of this. You do something you are suppose to, according to your dharma, it’s a plus 1. You do 2 things you are not supposed to, and against your path of dharma then it’s minus 2. Which causes a deficit. Notice I did not say good and bad. Everyone has a role to play in this life. Kind of like a… game.

“Life is a game”

In a game, you need villains and heroes. Without the villains, there won’t be any heroes. Likewise, life is a perfectly quilted piece of tapestry. A colourful one where everyone has a part to play. If one person doesn’t play his/her part right, it would affect the people around him and this in turn causes a ripple effect.

Think about this… You’ve seen footages of the most bizarre accidents happening. I recall one where a security camera shows a footage of a couple walking and chatting on the pavement. Out of nowhere, a wheel flies towards him and lands right on his head. Now, if we just analyse this for a bit, we’d come to the realisation that life is one long mathematical equation. I mean, can you imagine?  For him to be there at that precise moment meant that he had to wake up at a certain time, wash and dress not a second less or a second more and then so on and so forth. The wheel that flew off from what I presume was a car crash, had to come off the car at a precise angle with the exact amount of force. The vehicles involved and the people driving… wow… I mean, you probably get the idea. Right from the point of birth! And conception and when the parents met and everything and everyone in between! And that’s just one event in one person’s life… Everything is time related.  Precisely and mathematically planned. There is no such thing as a coincidence is there. ..

Say you come out of one life with a karmic debt. This gets added on to your next life. That’s just one bit of the energy that was your past life. With it comes your spiritual advancement, personality, traits, characters, etc. Now we know why we hear of ‘innocent’ children killing their parents and not knowing why they did it. So for some of us, our life seems to cruise along so easy and effortlessly. That’s because we don’t quite have as much karmic debt and we live out our life in line with our Dharma.

Then what about personality and character? I recall reading about young children killing parents for no rhyme or reason. And what about children having a taste for foods their parents and family members don’t even eat. How does that work?

Well… look out for AM’s explanation in my next post!
